Naturopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that emphasises the body's innate ability to heal itself. It combines traditional healing practices, natural therapies, and modern medical science to address a wide range of health issues. Naturopathic practitioners focus on treating the root causes of ailments rather than just the symptoms, often incorporating nutrition, herbal medicine, lifestyle counseling, and other natural remedies to promote overall wellness and support the body's natural healing processes.

I love working with my clients face to face but my services are not limited to those living in the Bay of Plenty. Consultations can be done online for those outside of Tauranga.

Naturopathy can offer valuable support during the transition to menopause by addressing the physical and emotional challenges that often accompany this natural phase of life. Naturopathic practitioners may recommend natural remedies such as herbal supplements, dietary changes, and lifestyle adjustments to manage symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep disturbances. They also focus on hormonal balance and stress management to help women navigate this transition more comfortably. By taking a holistic approach, naturopathy can empower women to embrace menopause with greater ease and vitality.

Hormone Replacement Therapy or Menopause Hormone Therapy can make a big difference to women dealing with some of the many symptoms that can arise in Perimenopause. Sometime though there are symptoms that do not resolve or that need further support. I can provide many options to assist alongside MHT and HRT to help address annoying symptoms and have long term health and wellness in mind.
More about Me…
I was exhausted and burnt out at 40, juggling the responsibilities of running my own business, being a wife, and a mum, all while wrestling with my own perimenopausal symptoms. It was a challenging time, and the search for help was often frustrating. But I didn't give up. I discovered naturopathy, and over the years, I've learned how to support my body through hormonal changes, wild symptoms, and fluctuating emotions.
Seeing countless women in my circle facing similar struggles, I decided to take a leap of faith at 44. I dedicated the next 4 years to studying Naturopathy and Herbal Medicine. I want to empower others through the changes that occur from 40 onwards and to demystify this phase of life. Completing a science based degree at my age and stage of life (hello brain fog) was no easy feat but I was determined to learn everything I could. My passion lies in working alongside women, putting the power of their health and well-being back in their hands. Together, we can achieve peaceful nights, energised workdays, reconnections with passions and loved ones, and feeling great in your own skin.
When I am not learning everything I can about healthy ageing, I love getting outside-to the beach with my dog Lola or walks in nature with my partner Rob. I have also been learning how to garden and grow my own veggies. I enjoy yoga, spending time with my family and reading trashy novels.
My goal is to set you up for long-term health and vitality so you can continue to savor life, move freely, and experience joy for years to come.
My Approach
The Initial Consultation
This is the deep dive where we spend an hour together discussing your symptoms, medical history and look at the other aspects of your life that could be implementing your health.
At the completion of this appointment I will spend time on research and prepare your health plan to deliver at your next appointment, normally the following week.
As a naturopath, my approach is centered on you, the client, and it's grounded in evidence-based practices, striving to improve your overall well-being by addressing your physical, mental, and emotional health as a whole.
Health Plan and Goal setting
This very important appointment is not only where I deliver your health plan, but also when I provide education on what may be underlying some of your issues and how the prescribed changes may help. One of the pillars of Naturopathic treatment is teaching clients how support their own health. With this in mind we agree on the health goals and how to reach them together. By the end of the session you should have a clear understanding of what to do, and a plan that is practical for your lifestyle.
Follow Up Appointments
Follow up appointments are there to keep you on track. Often we will begin a plan with a hiss and a roar, getting results quite quickly. But it can be easy to loose momentum when life gets busy, or travelling etc. The follow up appointment is a time to assess, tweak and if required reset goals to keep you moving forward.
Its also the time when we are celebrating every achievement, not matter how big or small.
